My Tuning

My Tuning

I want to keep my car “as it came out from the factory”. I want the most “original” look and feel. This is why i buy and install parts that are not changing this.

Here is my little list of “tuning” parts:

Bracket for rear shelf station wagon

I made the rear shelf by using this drawing.

Metal nuts for lights and windshield washer switches

The original plastic ones are not solid.

Inside Door handles

These are really nice, except one little thing – the pivoting pins need to be filed to get well into the plastic covers.

Aluminum cup under the gas tank

The original one is plastic and the thread skips easily.

Capacitor for the ignition

I listen to a radio station on AM, but the buzz suppress the sound so much, so i decided to add a capacitor on the ignition coils. You can find more info here.

I have one more to add to the alternator, but it’s still not installed.

Bearing on the steering column

The steering column needs a little sanding before the installation. I like this thing.

Backup switch

Not installed still, but looks very solid.

Backup light

Not installed. I think where to drill the cable hole and how to isolate it.

Bearing for the clutch

Needs a little grinding to fit well.

2026-01-21: During the gearbox reparation, i switched back to the original part
